About us

SAAT-SL

Society for Alternatives to Animal Testing in Sri Lanka is the society in the country which has its principal focus on the concept of alternatives to animal experiments.

The society plays a leading role in increasing the awareness of alternative methods for animal experiments in education, research, and testing. We provide a platform to the Sri Lankan researchers to share their knowledge and experience on alternatives to animal experiments. And we work towards the promotion of ‘Replacement’ concept in laboratory animal science and thereby our aim is to reduce the number of laboratory animals (Reduction) and reduce/minimise the suffering of the animals (Refinement) used in research and testing.
